Generally Visa is issued Either Single Entry or Multiple Entry with final discretion of the Consular Officer. Some Countries do issue visa for number of Entries like Double or Triple.
Single Entry Visa: A single-entry visa allows its holder to enter only once, within the given period of time, as mentioned in the visa sticker affixed to their passport or EVISA. Once the visa holder exits the territory, he or she can no longer go back, even if they have not spend their the number of days as permitted by the embassy that issued them the visa.
Double Entry Visa: In general, a double-entry visa applies the same way as the single-entry visa explained above. The sole difference between a single-entry and a double-entry visa is that the second gives you the chance to go once more back to the territory once you have left it.
You should be very careful not to exceed the number of days you are permitted to stay as well as the period within which you can spend these days in the Country. Yet some countries allow to Stay same number of days as mentioned in visa on each visit. Visa Holder must check number of stay allowed on each entry.
Multiple Entry Visa: A multiple-entry visa allows its holder to go in and out of the Country as many times as he or she wants. You should be very careful not to exceed the number of days you are permitted to stay as well as the period within which you can spend these days in the Country. Yet some countries allow to Stay same number of days as mentioned in visa on each visit. Visa Holder must check number of stay allowed on each entry.
The Validity of Visa is depends upon Country to Country and purpose visit. It can be as per current travel plan at the time of applying visa or it can be of minimum validity be default thus allowing traveller of more flexibility about stay.
Generally visas are Entry or Exit Visa.
Entry Visa: This visa allow visa holder to enter on any day before expiry date of the Visa and Stay as per stay mentioned on it. It means validity of visa is a period within visa holder can enter the territory and then can stay as per stay mentioned even after the expiry date mentioned on it. Most of countries like US, USA, Australia, New Zealand, some Asian Countries use to issue such type of visa.
Exit Visa: This visa allow visa holder to enter and stay within the visa period. You are not allowed to stay beyond the Expiry date and also must check duration of stay allowed. For example if visa is issued from 01 December 2018 to 31 May 2019 with Duration of stay as 90 days
