Prior to applying Religious Visa at the Italian Embassy / Consulate, the candidate need to request a Recommendation Letter from the Apostolic Nunciature (Vatican Embassy).

Visa for Religious Motives or Religious Studies to Italy can be obtained by Priests and Religious Men and Women (at least 1st Professed Religious Sisters and Brothers, Postulants and Novices are not to be recommended). Before applying to the Italian Embassy/Consulate, the candidate can request a Recommendation Letter from the Apostolic Nunciature. Based on Recommendation letter issued by Apostolic Nunciature the Italian Embassy/Consulate process Religious Visa.

The Recommendation letter can be obtained with the help of Agency registered by Vatican Embassy (Apostolic Nunciature). We, Murugan Travels (now Murugan Airvoyz Pvt Ltd) is Registered by Vatican Embassy  to accept, process, submit application and collect Recommendation letter on behalf of candidate.

Step1: Verification of documents as per checklist and criteria set by Apostolic Nunciature.

Step2: Completion of Application online by uploading all the necessary documents with photo and passport copies.

Step3: Submission of the Acknowledgment page of the online application along with original passport and all the original documents at Apostolic Nunciature

Step4: Collection of Recommendation letter along with original passport and all original documents.

Documents Required for members of Religious Province/Congregation/Institute:  

(Religious Father, Religious Sister, Religious Brother)

1. Duly filled Digital Application for Visa Recommendation Letter
2. White Background Photo
3. Original Passport valid for minimum 180 days from  date of planned exit from Italy
4. Original Invitation Letter attested by the Secretariat of State, Vatican City
5. Original Letter with seal from the Local Ordinary (Bishop) 
6. Original Letter with seal from the Provincial Superior (If letter is issued by someone other than “Provincial Superior & Delegate Superior” then an explanation letter may be required)
7. Additional document for D-Type Religious Motive: Copy of Agreement Letter/ Contract Letter (Convenzione) if an applicant is traveling for Pastoral Work, Pastoral Ministry or Religious Activity at Non-Community
8. Additional document for D-Type Studies: Copy or Original Admission or Enrolment      Letter issued by Institute/University in Italy

Documents Required for members of Religious Province/Congregation/Institute: 

(Religious Seminarian, Religious Postulants and Lay Persons)

1. Duly filled Digital Application for Visa Recommendation Letter
2. White Background Photo
3. Original Passport valid for minimum 180 days from  date of planned exit from Italy
4. Original Invitation Letter attested by the Secretariat of State, Vatican City
5. Original Letter with seal from the Local Ordinary (Bishop) 
6. Original Letter with seal from the Provincial Superior (If letter is issued & signed by someone other than “Provincial Superior & Delegate Superior” then need an explanation      letter may be required)

Documents Required for Diocesan/Catholic Priest associated with a Diocese:

(Diocesan Priest, Catholic Priest, Diocesan Father)

1. Duly filled Digital Application for Visa Recommendation Letter
2. White Background Photo
3. Original Passport valid for minimum 180 days from  date of planned exit from Italy
4. Original Invitation Letter attested by the Secretariat of State, Vatican City
5. Original Letter with seal from the Local Ordinary (Bishop)

(Archbishop, Bishop, Deacon, Lay, Emeritus Bishop/Archbishop, Monsignor)

1. Duly filled Digital Application for Visa Recommendation Letter
2. White Background Photo
3. Original Passport valid for minimum 180 days from  date of planned exit from Italy
4. Original Invitation Letter attested by the Secretariat of State, Vatican City
5. Original Letter with seal from the Local Ordinary (Bishop) 

INR 200 per passport Fees payable to Apostolic Nunciature (Vatican Embassy)

INR 600 per passport Processing Charge (inclusive of 18% GST) 

INR 500 Courier Charges (up to two applications with total weight 500g per courier) 

Average processing time for processing of the application for Recommendation letter is 3 to 5 working days from date of receiving complete documents by Murugan Airvoyz (Formerly Murugan Travels)

• All documents mentioned in checklist are mandatory in Original for verification purpose.
• All the original documents will be returned back after verification by Apostolic Nunciature (Vatican Embassy)
• Date of planned entry to Italy must be after 15 working days at the time of submission of application for Recommendation Letter.
• Please provide GST details for GST Invoice
• If required we will return original documents by Blue Dart Express Courier. If Blue Dart Express don't have delivery service to the location then we shall return documents by other courier service like Professional Courier, DTDC or Speed Post after confirmation from customer.
